
Irwell Corridor Economic Development Zone - About UsThe Irwell Corridor Economic Development Zone (EDZ) encompasses an area which includes, to the east of the river, in Manchester the Spinningfields re-development area down to Castlefield and the Inner Relief Road, and to the west, in Salford from the Chapel Wharf re-development area down to the Inner Relief Road and across to Salford University’s Adelphi Campus. The Action Plan put together under a £14 million, seven year ERDF programme aims to create a new business quarter in this key gateway area to the Regional Capital:
It was agreed between Government Office for the North West and the Partners to the Bid that Manchester Enterprises Limited would be the Accountable Body for the ERDF programme with Manchester and Salford City Councils taking responsibility for development in their respective areas.
