Funding and Commissioning Team

The Manchester Enterprises Commissioning and Funding Team is responsible for ensuring the effective commissioning of public investment in Greater Manchester which contributes to the implementation of the relevant economic strategies. In addition we provide strategic European support in relation to EU regional policy and the coordination of EU resource procurement.

Our work involves:

• Acting as Accountable body and Managing Agent for programmes across Greater Manchester and the North West region. These include:



• Manchester Sub Region ERDF Business Support Action Plan
• Greater Manchester ERDF Business Support Action Plan
• Irwell Corridor Economic Development Zone
• Greater Manchester Social Enterprise Action Plan
• Northwest Innovation and Specialist Business Support Action Plan
• Regional Action Plan


• Organising tendering and biddings rounds, ensuring that investment contributes to GM’s economic growth and ensuring that transparent processes are in place.
• Providing technical assistance to programme and project participants.
• Providing robust programme administration, incorporating programme and project level appraisal, approval and monitoring, grant claim preparation and submission and audit liaison.
• Identifying new sources of funding and developing programmes which will contribute to GM’s economic growth

North West ERDF Operational Programme (NWOP) 2007 - 2013

Following the launch of the North West Operational Programme 2007-13 on Friday 15 February 2008, an application process has now been developed to allow potential applicants to apply and benefit from the £521m ERDF funding allocated to the NW.
